What is smart roadster?

Smart Roadster is a compact and sporty two-seater convertible produced by the German automaker Smart GmbH from 2003 to 2005. It was available in two models: the Roadster and the Roadster Coupe.

The Smart Roadster features a lightweight and rigid tridion safety cell, as well as a modular body structure that is made of a mix of plastic and steel panels to reduce weight and improve performance.

The Roadster is powered by a turbocharged 0.7-liter three-cylinder engine that produces around 80 horsepower and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just over 10 seconds. The Roadster Coupe had a slightly more powerful engine with around 100 horsepower.

The Smart Roadster has a unique design with a distinctive front grille, pop-up headlights, and a short wheelbase which makes it agile and fun to drive. It also has a removable hardtop roof on the Coupe model, allowing for open-top driving when desired.

Despite its compact size, the Smart Roadster offers good handling and performance, making it a popular choice for those looking for a fun and quirky convertible city car. However, production was discontinued in 2005 due to low sales figures.
